time for a home turf giveaway.

Kendall Barber was the initial fire that sparked City and Dale, a fantastic blog supporting creative community, applauding all things local and truly finding joy in all things Edmonton.

In her own words,
“CityandDale.com is an insider’s guide to what’s new, hot and undiscovered in the capital region from fashion and style to tasty eats and local happenings.”

Loving where you live is key, so i absolutely love what City and Dale is all about. With my hometown return this weekend to participate as a newbie at the Make It show, it made perfect sense to partner with the them to spread the word.

Get yourself over to today’s post and leave a comment to enter yourself in a giveaway for a custom 12 pack of dani press cards!

It’s already been incredibly encouraging to read some of the comments and feel so loved!

Thank you Kendall!

xo.

made it into make it!

i got into make it!

i applied as soon as i returned from central america and was crossing my fingers, waiting to find out yesterday. two e-mails arrived with the go-ahead for the vancouver show april 20-22
AND
edmonton show may 11-13!

not only are they my adopted hometown and hometown, respectively, but it’ll be the first time dani press is on a multiple-city roster for shows.
exciting.
exciting.
exciting.

big thanks to jenna and chandler herbut, the creators of the make it shows, for backing dani press and including me in a line-up of rad artisans.

go team!

monday, monday.

it’s monday.
time to finally unpack from my edmonton trip and get ready for a lovely, whirlwind week…
price and production business class, sea kayaking and a long-overdue hair appointment, custom wedding invitation photo shoot, lunch dates, a staff party, and the much anticipated bon iver concert on sunday night (i can’t wait to put on my new bulky red knit, stroll with chris to bao bei, and snuggle into some favorite music!)

there is nothing better than meeting monday and liking it.

what’s in store for your week?
xo.

bonds.

one of the best parts about being back in edmonton is seeing friends i made back in edmonton. a long, long time ago.
when we played jump rope, blew out single digit birthday candles, didn’t have drivers licenses, sat in math class together, and had magazine cut-outs of dudes in our lockers.

years and years of engraved bonds.
how thankful i am for them.

home.

i’m flying home on sunday. 8 am.

i remember telling chris in late july, on more than one occasion, “i feel like going home. i don’t know exactly why, but i just want to be home.”

then lisa said she would be home from new york.
then kristen said she had some bad news.
and then that was that.

for me, the arrow has never pointed back to edmonton. but as much as i wouldn’t move back, it’s where i grew up and there can’t be any other place that holds such a nostalgic and timeless place in my life.
even if i’m just driving around on my own, everything is familiar. and there’s so much comfort to be found in a place that you know, that stays the same and feels like an old shelter at the edge of a big field that you can duck into.

i get to grab coffee with my mama and go antiquing,
have dinner and drinks with old friends,
and hear my dad walk in from work at 6 pm.

i love being at home.
